Tofu Paratha | Protein Rich | Nutritious Recipe


Tofu Paratha is an easy & healthy Indian dish prepared with whole wheat flour, crumbled tofu and Indian spices.

Tofu is made from the soy beans that are soaked and crushed to create soy milk, before being separated into curds and whey. ‘Bean curd’ or tofu has now become a staple in many households, particularly if you are vegan. Tofu has loads of health benefits, and is a great addition to any well-balanced diet, whether you are a meat eater or not! It is a rich source of plant protein. It also have good amount of iron, calcium, magnesium and B – vitamins complex and high in antioxidants and can be eaten as part of an anti-inflammatory diet. It is low in calories, saturated fat and high on protein.

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat flour – 1 Cup
  • Tofu – 100 gm
  • Onion (Finely Chopped) – 1, Medium Sized
  • Green Chillies (Chopped) – 2-3 nos
  • Cumin Seeds Powder – 2 Tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 2 Tbsp
  • Garam Masala – 1 Tsp
  • Salt – To taste
  • Oil – 1-2 Tbsp

Methods:

For dough –

  1. In a bowl add whole wheat flour, pinch of salt mix well and add water little by little and mix.
  2. Knead to form a soft and smooth dough.
  3. Rest the dough for 15-20 minutes and then divide it into equal portions.

For stuffing-

  1. Take another bowl, to it add crumbled tofu, chopped onion, cumin seeds powder, garam masala, green chilli, coriander leaves and salt.
  2. Mix till everything is well combined. The stuffing is now ready.
  3. Take one of the dough balls and roll it in a circle and stuffed the stuffing and roll slightly thick.
  4. Cook the paratha to golden brown adding oil.
  5. Serve the same with Raita or Pickle.
