Khakhra is the most common and healthiest snack consumed by every Indian, mostly in the western region of the country. It is light in weight, easy to digest, and nutritious too, as it is rich in fiber, vitamins, and other nutrients.

Khakhra is made of whole wheat flour along with various spices and condiments. It is considered a convenient snack and hence popular during travel. It does not require any processing and is easy to carry.

It is a crispy, crunchy, and delicious snack and a favorite among people of all ages. It pairs well with Chai, Coffee, Chutney, Pickle, Curd, and Yoghurt or it can also be made in the form of masala khakhra topped with vegetables.

Ingredient:
  • Whole Wheat Flour – 1 Cup
  • Salt – To taste
  • Oil – 1 Teaspoon
  • Water – As required
Method:
  1. Take a mixing bowl, and add whole wheat flour, and salt to it. Add the water in part to make a soft dough like a chapati. Keep the dough aside for 10–15 minutes. Now, make an equal ball out of that dough.
  2. Take a rolling pin. Roll out the very thin roti after dusting it with whole wheat flour to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin. Heat the non-stick pan on low heat with a small amount of oil. Put rolled thin chapati on it and cook it for a while. Turn it on once and cook it till we get the golden-brown colour.
  3. To make it crispier, press it gently with a cotton folded sheet while it is still on the non-stick pan. Our Khakhra is ready. You can have it as a healthy snack at any time.

For Different Flavors you can add – Dried Kasuri Methi, Jeera, Ajwain, Ginger-Garlic crush
