In a conversation with Nikhil Kamath, on his podcast ‘WTF is’, actor Tara Sutaria shared her thoughts on the oft-debated topic of watching content on OTT platforms vs the theatrical experience of watching cinema. Sutaria said, “I love watching stuff on OTT platforms, all of us do, but there’s just something that you cannot take away about that experience of cinema. Something that we’ve all grown up loving, across all age groups. The fact that you can actually come together as a community and a society and actually just sit together and enjoy for those 2 or 3 hours and just forget everything that could possibly be worrisome that day. There’s so much to be worried about in the last few years, I feel like, I can’t wait for people to go back to the cinemas and I’m glad they are slowly flocking back.”
Sutaria also shared that she her childhood was not entirely a happy one, as she was fearful and painfully shy. The actor said, “I chose to sort of be in my sister’s shadow because I was so uncomfortable with being me. I was so scared actually, the right word to use would be scared of everything. I grew up like that, and unfortunately, my school experience and a lot of my college experience majority of my college experience involved a lot of ragging and a lot of bullying, so when I was growing up I chose to be in the theatre also i chose not to attend college because of the persistent bullying for whatever reason because I think I was just different, people didn’t know how to accept that”
The other guests on the podcast along with Sutaria, were Navya Naveli Nanda, founder of Project Naveli and co-founder of Aara Health, Kaivalya Vohra co-founder & CTO of Zepto and Aadit Palicha co-founder & CEO of Zepto.
