Spinach Poori | Fiber Rich | Nutritious | Health Recipe


Poori is an Indian fried bread basically made from whole wheat flour. As the most common breakfast choice, it is very popular all over India. There are many different combinations of pooris that can be made, such as matar poori, masala poori, and beetroot poori. Here, we share the details of how to make palak poori. When spinach is in season, you can make poori and eat it. This can be a great addition to the diet of those who want to gain weight.

Spinach is rich in fiber and water, which can help prevent constipation and digestive health. It is rich in vitamin A that supports eye health, benefits the immune system and is essential for healthy heart, lung and kidney function. Also, rich in vitamin K, aids in blood clotting and calcium absorption for bone strength. It contains vitamin C, calcium, manganese and potassium. Also, Contains the antioxidant lutein, which promotes eye health. 

Ingredients:

  • Spinach Puree – 1 Bowl
  • Green Chilli – 2 Nos
  • Wheat Flour – 2 cups
  • Salt – To Taste
  • Oil – For Frying
  • Water – as required

Method:

  1. Blanch the spinach leaves for about 3-4 minutes and let cool.
  2. Add the blanched spinach and green chillies in a grinder to make a fine paste.
  3. Take 2 cups of whole wheat flour in a bowl and add the palak puree.
  4. Knead the mixture into a dough and make small balls out of the dough.
  5. Take a rolling pin. Roll out a very thin pooris after dusting with whole wheat flour so it doesn’t stick to the rolling pin.
  6. Heat the frying oil, add the pooris to the hot oil and fry until cooked through.
  7. Serve Hot.
